Conductive Compounds Announces
RO-593 Radio Opaque Screen Printable Ink

Radio opaque ink is ideal to print visible tags used with X-Ray, MRI or other imaging equipment.

Hudson, NH - November 16, 2009--Conductive Compounds Inc., a Hudson, NH based manufacturer of specialty materials for the electronic assembly industry, announces a new radio opaque ink RO-593. RO-593 is designed for use in applications requiring visible tags on devices and surfaces exposed to X-Ray, MRI and other fluorescing and imaging equipment.  RO-593 is a solvent based ink that can be pad or screen printed, or dip coated onto a wide variety of substrates and dried quickly at low temperatures. It is a lower cost and safer material to use than metals such as lead. With RO-593, it is possible to print small, intricate patterns if needed.

RO-593 can be used for adhesive skin patches and other topical devices that are attached during X-Ray, CAT or MRI scan to highlight a target area. It is a white opaque paste that can be pigmented to create customized colors. Surgical devices, tools and other disposable items can be imprinted with RO-593 to track them more easily.  For use on implantable devices, RO-593 would require overcoat of an additional protective ink or coating, and is compatible with Parylene and a wide variety of other overcoat materials.

RO-593 can also be applied manually by brush or syringe for making prototypes, or for short run production cycles.  Cured films of RO-593 exhibit excellent adhesion to glass, metal, fabric, paper and most plastic substrates.  RO-593 also has excellent bend resistance once printed and dried.  It is compatible with all Conductive Compounds’ silver conductive inks, carbon resistive inks, silver conductive epoxy adhesives, UV curable encapsulants and conformal coatings.

All Conductive Compounds R&D and manufacturing takes place at its Hudson, N.H. facility. Products are generally shipped within 48 hours after an order is received. For product information on Conductive Compounds’ full line of inks and adhesives visit: http://www.conductivecompounds.com.
